What island are you on?
We are based on Inis Mór the largest of the three Aran Islands in County Galway, Ireland.
How far are you from the ferry port?
We are a 5 minute walk from the ferry port. Once you leave the harbour take the road to the right and walk straight along the beachside, we are the first business you will meet. Please click here for google maps directions.
Are there taxis available on Inis Mór?
Yes, there is a selection of taxi services available. There are usually taxi buses waiting at the ferry port for when the ferry arrives to the island. If you would like to book a taxi, call us at reception on +353861895823.
Are there any shops/restaurants/bars on the island?
Yes, there is a Spar supermarket and off licence located in the centre of Kilronan village. There are also a selection of bars, restaurants, cafe’s and some craft and clothing stores.
Do you provide camping equipment?
No, campers must provide all of their own equipment for camping.
How much do the camping showers cost?
The camping showers cost €2 per use.
Are there quiet hours on site?
Yes, quiet hours are between 9pm and 7am.
Do you have BBQ facilities?
Yes, we have a guest BBQ available on site.
Do you provide towels?
If you are staying in our glamping lodges towels and bed linen are provided. If you are staying in our campsite you must provide your own towels and equipment.
Do you offer a laundry service?
We have a self-catering 24 hour laundry facility for washing / drying clothes on site.
What comes included in the glamping lodges?
Bedlinen, towels, fridge, microwave, tea/coffee making facilities, cutlery, cups & plates.
Do you offer bike hire?
We don’t offer bike hire but our neighbours Aran Bike Hire conveniently located on the ferry port do.
Are you pet friendly?
Do you have wifi?
Yes, we have complimentary wifi available for all guests in our reception area which is open throughout the day.
Do you accept stag/hen parties?
We are a family friendly focused site and we don’t accept groups of this nature.
What is the main attraction on the Island?
Dun Aonghasa is the main attraction on the Aran Islands. It is a prehistoric fort set on a 300 foot cliff and offers tremendous views. It is accessible by bike which is the most popular method of access.
How far away is Dun Aonghasa?
Dun Aonghasa is a 30 minute cycle on a bike which is four miles away from Kilronan Pier, The Aran Islands
Which is the best route to take to Dun Aonghasa?
There is 2 options and both routes take 30 minutes ; The main road to Dun Aonghasa has an incline This route offers amazing views. Option 2 is the the coast road which is virtually flat and takes you along the coast line of the island. The seal colony is on the coastal road. This is the option preferred by the most leisurely cyclists.
